Uninstall IE8 in Vista

Uninstall IE8 in Windows Vista is a bit different. You will not find IE8 listed under Installed Programs. However, the same was added now to Windows update even though you manually downloaded and installed IE8. To uninstall IE8, perform the following:

  1. Click Start, Control Panel.
  2. Select “Uninstall a program” under Programs group.
  3. Click View Installed updates
  4. Select Internet Explorer 8 from the list
  5. Click Uninstall.
  6. Click Yes when prompted, and accept any other prompts.

Once IE8 is uninstalled, IE7 will be restored automatically.
